To apply to the Peanut Vinther scholarship and the Dallas Chapter of ASHRAE scholarship fill out the information requested in the scholarship documents and send to the appropriate address. More scholarships can be found at the ASHRAE website.
Scholarship Award Procedure
I. Candidates will be notified within 2-3 weeks after January 31st, or each year by e-mail as to the status of their scholarship appications.
II. The successful candidate will be required to appear at the March Dallas Chapter of ASHRAE monthly meeting at 11:30 am at Maggiano's North Park in Dallas,
Texas. Lunch and attendance fee will be paid by the Dallas Chapter of ASHRAE.
III. The successful candidate will recieve a check made out to the candidate.
PN Vinther Scholarship:
I. Purpose:
A. To encourage college students to pursue a study which will qualify them for employment in the "Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning" industry.
B. To memorialize Percy Nelson "Peanut" Vinther, Engineer, Past President of both the North Texas Chapter of "ASHVE" 1953-1954 and "The American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer" (ASHRAE) 1967-1968.
II. Scholarship Award Requirements:
A. The candidate must be a full time student enrolled in an accredited course leading to a profession degree in a field related to Heating, Refrigeration or Air Conditioning.
B. The accompanying scholarship form must be completed and typed or filled out on time.
C. The candidate must submit recommendations from two separate full time faculty members.
D. The candidate must submit a one to two page double spaced essay on the topic “Why I am interested in a career in the Heating, Refrigeration or Air Conditioning industry.”
E. The candidate must mail the four above mentioned items to the address listed on the scholarship application. These items must be post marked no later than January 31st of each year.
Dallas Chapter of ASHRAE Scholarship
I. Purpose: To encourage college students to pursue a study which will qualify them for employment in the “Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning” industry and to promote membership in ASHRAE.
II. Requirements:
A. The candidate must be a full time student enrolled in an accredited course leading to a profession degree in a field related to Heating, Refrigeration or Air Conditioning.
B. The accompanying scholarship form must be completed and typed or filled out on time.
D. The candidate must submit a one to two page double spaced essay on the topic “Why I am interested in a career in the Heating, Refrigeration or Air Conditioning industry.” You may use the same essay if you are applying for both the PN Vinther Scholarship and the Dallas ASHRAE scholarship.
E. The candidate must mail the three above mentioned items to the address listed on the scholarship application. These items must be post marked no later than January 31st of each year.
