One time scholarship predicted to be in excess of $1,000.

I. Purpose

A. To encourage college students to pursue a study which will qualify them for employment in the "Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning" industry.

B. To memorialize Percy Nelson "Peanut" Vinther, Engineer, Past President of both the North Texas Chapter of "ASHVE" 1953-1954 and "The American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer" (ASHRAE) 1967-1968.

II. Scholarship Award Requirements

A. The candidate must be a full time student enrolled in an accredited course leading to a professional degree in a field related to Heating, Refrigeration or Air Conditioning and have achieved Junior year status academically in that curriculum.

B. The accompanying scholarship form must be completed and typed or filled out on line.

C. The candidate must submit recommendations from two separate full time faculty members.

D. The candidate must submit a one to two page double spaced essay on the topic "Why I am interested in a career in the Heating, Refrigeration or Air Conditioning industry".

E. The candidate must mail the four above mentioned items to the address listed on the scholarship application. These items must be post marked no later than January 15, 2007.

III. Scholarship Award Procedure

A. Candidates will be notified within 2-3 weeks after January 15, 2007 by e-mail as to the status of their scholarship applications.

B. The successful candidate will be required to appear at the February 17, 2007 Dallas Chapter ASHRAE monthly meeting at 11:30 am at Royal Oaks County Club in Dallas, Texas. Lunch and attendance fee will be paid by the Dallas Chapter ASHRAE.

C. The successful candidate will receive a certificate noting the achievement of wining the 2007 Peanut Vinther scholarship and a check made jointly to the candidate and to the institution being attended.
